Above all, the mixture of programming, computer science, project management and business management inspired me to study Coding and Software Engineering.

3 questions, 3 answers to the students of XU, this time with Niclas, student of Coding and Software Engineering. With the Hashtag #xustudentlife, our students will also be giving insights into their student lives in our Instagram story in the coming months. In the next two weeks, it will be Niclas, Kai, Jonas and Niklas.

Why did you choose XU?

The XU is a new and small university with focus on digitization, future and innovation. Because XU is a small university and it is taught in small groups, teachers can adapt to any student and respond quickly to questions. The experienced lecturers, the modern look of the university and the view into the future convinced me of the XU. Also the teaching with digital elements, the great initiative and practical parts stand out at XU. I believe that XU can prepare us well for the tasks of the future and the upcoming changes.

Why did you choose your course of studies?

In the beginning, it was difficult for me to choose one of the courses at XU because I was very interested in all three of the current courses. Finally, I chose Coding and Software Engineering. I wanted to know exactly what was happening in a computer, how to coordinate projects with multiple programmers and experts, and what the market expected of us. Above all, the mixture of programming, computer science, project management and business management inspired me to study Coding and Software Engineering.

What was important to you when choosing your place to study?

Especially important to me are small learning groups, a future-oriented study program and seminars that do not only consist of dry theory and listening. In the beginning I had to consider that at many universities I would only learn what I already know because I program in my free time. Or that the course of studies is exactly what I did not want. So I was very much considering whether studying was really the right thing to do for me.
XU’s courses of study then hit exactly what I expected from my studies, small groups, knowledge for the future, initiative and a mixture of topics that inspire me.
