When I got to know XU a few months ago and convinced myself that its higher education concept could solve a lot of the ongoing educational problems, I decided to test it.

3 questions, 3 answers to the students of XU, this time with Mona, student of Coding and Software Engineering. With the Hashtag #xustudentlife, our students will also be giving insights into their student lives in our Instagram story in the coming months. In the next two weeks, it will be Mona, Karima, Annika and Felix.

Why did you choose XU?

In the course of my life, I have visited many educational institutions and gained experience in many different educational fields. I have also found that the education system is very inflexible towards change until it reaches university entrance level and that it is partly restricted by the existing legal situation. When I made my first experiences with the higher education system in Germany a few years ago, I noticed that only few universities were working on innovative projects.

Not a single disruptive concept has prevailed in the field of education for several decades. When I got to know XU a few months ago and convinced myself that its higher education concept could solve a lot of the ongoing educational problems, I decided to test it. Another feature that supported my decision for the XU is the international approach of this university, where teaching is partly guaranteed in English.

Why did you choose your course of studies?

The course Coding and Software Engineering is characterized by the practical part and the innovative way of teaching. There are many different aspects that could be enumerated here, but from a students view in his first semester the campus and the network are the most striking aspects from a student at XU.

What was important to you when choosing your place to study?

When choosing a place to study, the level of knowledge taught is particularly important to me.

A course of study must be challenging and, from my perspective, as broad as possible. Since I had already gained a lot of knowledge in the economic field during my previous university career, it was important for me to choose a degree course that focused on the area of computer science. Furthermore, as the founder of a tech start-up, the area of computer science is very important to me and therefore I believe that this course of study is a good choice for me.
