Studies without university entrance qualification
Even if you do not have a university entrance qualification, you can still study at XU Exponential University under certain conditions. Das gilt insbesondere, wenn du beruflich qualifiziert bist und bestimmte Fortbildungen absolviert hast.
You and XU – we fit together when you:
have completed advanced training in accordance with the provisions of the Crafts Code, the Vocational Training Act or comparable federal or state regulations
or
have completed a technical college course at a state or state-recognized technical college within the meaning of § 28 of the Education Act or a comparable course in another federal state
or
have completed at least two years of vocational training regulated by federal or state law in a profession similar to your intended course of study and have worked in the profession for at least three years
or
have successfully completed a year at a university (usually two university semesters) in another federal state on the basis of a professional qualification.
Your language skills
You must have certain language skills for admission to the course, as the courses are taught in English. You can also study abroad for one semester on the Bachelor’s degree courses. You therefore need good English language skills: at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. You must provide proof of the required language skills with a recognized certificate.
Bachelor admission requirements
You will need to submit the following documents to apply for a bachelor’s degree in digitalisation
General qualification for university entrance
School Leaving Certificate (equivalent to German „Abitur“) or
Certificate of completion of a Technical Secondary School (equivalent to German „Fachabitur“) or
Subject related university entrance qualification
Vocational diploma + Completed vocational education
Certificate from an upper trade school in combination with the completion of an apprenticeship (at least two years) (Equivalent to the German “Höhere Handelsschule” and “Berufsausbildung”) or
Entrance qualification for a technical secondary school + Internship
Certificate of technical secondary school in combination with an approved internship (at least one year). (Equivalent to the German Fachoberschulreife + gymnasiale Oberstufe + Praktikum) or
Other
Certificates that allow admission for universities of applied sciences
Language skills
As all degree programs are taught in English, proof of a language level in English of at least B2 is required. Applicants with a German (Fach-)Abitur generally do not need to provide additional proof.
Application for a bachelor’s degree
You will need to submit the following documents to apply for a bachelor’s degree in digitalisation
Higher education entrance qualification or equivalent
Notarized certificate of general higher education entrance qualification, subject-related higher education entrance qualification or higher technical education entrance qualification or a comparable foreign qualification.

Master admission requirements
You will need to submit the following documents in order to apply for your Master’s program at XU Exponential University in Potsdam
Academic degree
Notarized diploma verifying the completion of a previous academic degree (bachelor, diploma, magister, etc.) You must have at least 240 ECTS for the continuing education Master’s degree program. The degree must have been obtained in a subject relevant to the Master’s program, such as business administration or business informatics. The course must have taught the core academic content for the Master’s degree program in Digital Transformation Management in the field of business administration to the extent of 30 ECTS CP. These are Human resources, in particular recruitment and personnel development, organization/organizational development, accounting, investment and financing, marketing, quantitative methods, leadership, project management.
Comparable financial statements
In the case of a university degree obtained abroad, the relevant documents need to be provided in German or English and must be certified by an officially accredited translation agency.
Professional experience
For the continuing education Master’s degree course, you must have at least one year of responsible professional experience relevant to the course. If your Bachelor’s degree comprises fewer than 240 ECTS credits, you can compensate for this with additional years of professional activity. In this case, credit cannot exceed 30 ECTS per professional year and 60 ECTS in total – so if you have a 180 ECTS Bachelor’s degree, you need a total of three years of relevant professional experience.
Language skills
For admission, you must provide proof of specific English language skills at language level C1 (according to CEFR) – we generally accept all known certificates, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Certificate. If the language certificate is not yet available at the time of application, you can submit it by the start of your studies. If you have already completed your Bachelor’s degree in English, you do not need to submit an additional language certificate.

You will need to submit the following documents to apply for a master’s degree in digitisation.
Academic degree
Notarized certificate of your first academic degree (e.g. a bachelor’s degree)
Curriculum vitae
Optional curriculum vitae in tabular form including educational background, professional career, internships, language and other relevant knowledge.
Further certificates and evidence
Proof of at least one year of responsible professional activity relevant to the degree program (e.g. certificate, reference, employer’s certificate). Proof of English language proficiency at language level C1 or English-language Bachelor’s degree
